Do What Helps Others
On my way to the US to meet a close person in my life. I’ve had this planned prior to beginning this project and finally seeing it through. It is labelled as a risk and concern from impeding the project to finish on time. But the thing is, if we don’t plan or schedule anything, it doesn’t happen. So here I am on the plane to Memphis making it happen. Albert has been on this driving tour of the entire United States since April and been doing it solo. He’s ‘making it happen’ i

Its not about me, its all you.
Let’s see what happened this week. I worked on the guitar: bound it; broke the gold mother of pearl purfling and glued into place; sanding and scraping the guitar ready for finish. The body is ready and now we embark on the neck. The first thing is to make a new neck jig set at 8 degrees and block the neck. As I think and dream about this next step, I ask myself how can I make it special, unique, one of a kind for Noel. It think proper fitment to the body and playability is

Validation.
We were going to move forward with the project anyways. We told each other that regardless of getting any funding, this project was too important to us as a team and as individuals. We constantly asked the question “Would you still do this for free?” Although this kind of thinking and this mentality was a really good litmus test for members of our crew, it was still a task to move forward; doing all of this work without a tangible reward at the end of the journey. But all

It involves pressing down all of the strings at one time with one finger while the other fingers play other notes (See pic below). Even when I gig with Hilary and play for hours at a time, I’ll even get cramps in my left hand sometimes debilitating for short
Strength & Weakness
I’ve heard this saying so many times in this year alone, “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. I finally learned that this phrase was the coined by the philosopher Aristotle, this phrase aptly defines the modern concept of synergy. When I discovered this, I realized that it resembles the guitarborn team. Why am I writing this? I know most just want to hear what steps I’ve taken to progress the guitar, but I’m at the point where my social media posts and videos

Flexibility and readjusting is the key.
ISSUE #11 It takes a lot of coordination to get the team together for meetings and filming. But when we do, the creative juices flow. I realize that we all have families, friends, regular day jobs, and life to tend to, and this is what makes meeting in person so challenging. Things always ’pop-up’ and we reschedule. We really haven’t been spending time as a full team together. However, what’s making this all happen is the power of the internet, emails, texting, social m
