Recalibrating doesn't stop.

It’s cliché to say this, you know how they say success or goal accomplishment is never linear? Well in practice, and while you’re experiencing it, it feels more like setbacks or obstacles. Recalibrating is less about changing the goal than it is pointing the ship back in the right direction. The best comparison I can make is a boat on the ocean that with waves, currents, and even thunderstorms. On the ocean, the path from point A to point B will simply never be a straight line. It’s impossible. Some waves are bigger than others, some storms are more severe but they all impact the journey. Some currents and winds could even speed accelerate your progress, and I can imagine whenever those things happen you better enjoy the ride. What’s even more interesting, is that you may not even know if the impact is positive or negative until its behind you.

For GuitarBorn, the parallel is uncanny. Every day, week or month that passes brings a new element to the journey that impacts the path in one way or another. I suppose that’s why it’s so important to have a very clear vision of the destination so that you can re-calibrate with confidence knowing that in the long run, it will get you there.

We recently met with our close friend and fellow artist/musician Albert who we’ve brought on as a music/performance/entertainment consultant (even though he doesn’t know it yet). Knowing his natural abilities, skill level and experience in entertainment, he is a trusted advisor. I’ve given him an initial vision of the final performance and he’s provided some really positive feedback and recommendations based on what he’s seen so far. He’ll be an important part of this second half of our journey so we can continue to re-calibrate as the waves come in.
