Next Level

It’s been only 2 weeks of blogging and already I’m behind. This should have been written 2 days ago, but it wasn’t. I could easily write about how I had one of the best excuses ever...but more about that later. The real reason I didn’t take 15-20 minutes of my day to write is because I really didn’t accomplish much throughout the week. I had plans to really narrow down my song selections to 10, but I didn’t make the time. Life seems to be full of shifting priorities. Family, work, other musical commitments…but when it comes down to it, we still make a conscious decision to either do something, or not. Everyone is busy. Everyone thinks they have no time. Yet we can still make a choice over what to prioritize. The more I recognize that and make a conscious decision to invest in this project, the better habits I’ll develop and therefore get closer to my goal. It’s just a matter of being honest with myself.

That being said, what happened this week? Long story short, our a cappella group Altra Volta competed in the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival 2018 Regionals in Olympia, Washington. We walked away with awards for “Audience Favourite” as well as “Best Original Song”. The entire experience was a once in a lifetime, and I’m truly blessed to have experienced it with not only my closest friends, but also my wife! If you are interested in reading more about it, head on over to AV's instagram page.

I will say that I was constantly thinking about The GuitarBorn Project. I thought about the members of Altra Volta and their will to be the absolute best they can be at their musical craft. It has led this group to heights we would have never dreamed of! This project and this journey that Cliff and I have embarked on is no different, other than the fact it is NEXT LEVEL. Who knows what opportunities will exist once the project is complete? Only one way to find out…
